RULES,
yes, yes, we all hate them. we hate reading them, we hate abiding by them, and most of all, we hate whoever came up with the whole damned idea of having rules in the first place. it's just a nuisance, isn't it? well, too bad. we still have them. it's here to maintain calmness and peace between members, and not just there to spite you, okay? so even though there are things that you might not agree with, then, well, i'm sure there are lots of other warriors sites out there that would love having a rule-breaking troll of a new member :3. but, of course, they wouldn't be as awesome now, would they? these are the first things you should look at when before you start making a character, before you start introducing yourself, before you even join! okay? so scroll down and look away!

GENERAL, these are the general sorts of rules that you should ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS abide by, whether or not you're in the cbox, roleplaying, or in the ooc section.
one. respect is big here. very, very, big. be nice and polite to each and every one of felidae's members, even if you don't personally like them. sometimes you might crack a joke without realizing it might be offensive, or you say something that might not be what you meant, or the other person doesn't get your wonderful sarcasm- just explain it, i'm sure they'll understand. this is a very serious rule, and if you intentionally be mean to somebody, you will be banned. no warning whatsoever, for however long the mod deems fit.
two. do not spam. do not double post. this makes you look like a troll, which you (hopefully) are not. posting more than four posts in a row in the cbox is considered spamming, while you shouldn't double post even once on the boards.
three. felidae maximus is semi-lit. this means we do not talk in chatspeak, we have proper grammar, etc. don't like it? deal with it. some abbreviations, like "lol" and "brb" is allowed in the chatbox, but not when you're roleplaying. it makes us look unprofessional, which we are not.
four. use one account for one person. you can put all your cats on one account, and there's really no need to keep making random accounts for each and every one. okay? staff can check ip addresses, and this can be super annoying.
five. be active. 'nuff said.

ROLEPLAY, these are the kind of rules that you must, must, MUST bear in mind when you make any kind of post. the word here is semi-lit. it is a very big part of felidae maximus, so please, just use your common sense, okay?
one. use some kind of ic/ooc. ic stands for 'in character', when you are in the actual roleplaying and from that character's point of you. ooc stands for 'out of character', which is basically the opposite. ooc is when you want to add notes, comments, etc. please use these two in some way so we can distinguish what you're saying.
two. as mentioned several times before, felidae maximus is semi-lit. please make sure your posts are detailed, with good grammar and spelling. i've included a word counter at the bottom of every reply (you have eyes; check it out) so you can track how much you are posting. please, no posts under 150 words. this may seem harsh, but it's for good reason. other roleplayers tend to make their posts shorter if yours are short too, and that would totally destroy the point of felidae. there's a really nifty code that won't allow you to even post without this amount, so don't bother. it's not that hard; just a simple paragraph or two.
three. do not god mod and powerplay. period. god mod is when your character is invincible, like in combat he/she never gets hit and has superhuman strength and speed and is totally pwning the other cat- no. powerplay is when you say another character is doing something, when the roleplayer hasn't actually said that it is. this applies to scuffles as well: you cannot say that you automatically hit your opponent, because your opponent hasn't had a chance to reply yet. you can say you lunged at him and tried to attack, but don't automatically assume it will hit.
four. liquid time. liquid time is allowed, as i understand that sometimes when you're waiting for one thread to finish, you're completely full of muse and want to make another thread. just don't go overboard; one or two or three is fine, but not like, ten or anything.
five. do not curse. cats do not curse. they have their own special language like 'mouse brain' or 'fox dung', but they don't randomly go spouting words like 'damn' or 'bitch'. use your common sense, people!

CHATBOX, you know that really nifty little thing in the side box, fifth one down, under staff and above awards? that thing that's like magic and allow you to talk with other members without the hassle of posting? yeah. it's a cbox. and it's a part of felidae maximus, and it has rules, too. aw, poo.
one. do not spam. this is a very big issue, because it's extremely easy to do it; easier than any other part of the site. any more posts in a row that is above four is considered spam. do not do it. also, posts with no apparent reason but to stop the silence is also spam. if you do this once, you get a friendly warning. if you do it twice, you get a friendly pm. if you do it a third time, you get a not-so-friendly ban. kapeesh?
two. the cbox is a place to chill. it's there to be fun, a way to connect with the members. it's not a place to start flame wars, and it's still a part of felidae maximus. the rules that apply generally apply here, too. so play nice, please.
three. do not advertise your site in the cbox. if somebody asks, you can give it to them, but don't go, "HEY GUYS I MADE A REALLY COOL SITE GO CHECK IT OUT PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE?!?!ONE11".
four. this site is pg-13. that means no 'inappropriate' links. don't post anything you would in the cbox that you wouldn't show to your four year old brother. and remember, your four year old brother is a nice, sweet kid who loves nothing more but be happy and innocent in a world of his own- we'd love to preserve that innocence, wouldn't we?
five. oh, yeah. and the cbox's name is theodore. because bob is overrated. and to keep with the tradition of five rules each. please be nice to theodore.
